The Kentucky Court of Justice lists Kirk Tolle as Mason County Circuit Court Clerk. The office is in the Mason County Justice Center at 100 W. 3rd St., Maysville, KY 41056. Circuit Court matters use 606-564-4340, District Court matters use 606-564-4011, and the fax number is 606-564-0932. Public counter hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Circuit Court Clerk is the clerk for local trial-court case records. That includes Circuit Court, District Court, traffic, criminal, civil, probate, small claims, divorce, and other court case files when public access is allowed. The office is not the Mason County Clerk and does not serve the same role as the county recording office.

The County Clerk handles legal records filed as public record, including deeds, mortgages, powers of attorney, wills, tax liens, releases, marriages, and other county-recorded documents. Courthouse records are mostly 1795 to present, indexes are mostly back to 1795, and online images are mostly January 2004 to current. Online access is through eCCLIX, not KYeCourts.

This split is the main clerk issue in Mason County. A divorce decree, criminal sentence, traffic citation, probate case file, or civil judgment belongs with the Circuit Court Clerk side. A marriage license, recorded will, deed, mortgage, lien, power of attorney, or historic county legal record belongs with the County Clerk side. Federal Clerk Distinctions
